Antoine Griezmann and Saul Niguez were linked with moves to Manchester United but both deals failed to materialise.
And Simeone says - in the wake of the club’s transfer ban - he made sure the players all stuck together.
"From the time I was told that the club could not sign players, the only thing I asked the club was for no one to leave," Simeone told Atletico's official website.
"They made sure of that and that is why we are still together."
